i did it!

I'm so excited to report that I LOVED my Brazilian blowout I got yesterday!  The process was tedious to me.  I've never had my hair colored or highlighted so I'm not used to being in the salon for longer than a haircut.  It was totally worth the wait.

So let me break it down for you on how the process works and show you some remarkable pictures!  I purposefully came with my hair curly so I could get a great before and after picture.

Here's the process...
  • Wash the hair to get out all the products
  • Brush in the special Brazilian blowout cream product
    • I'm not going to lie.  The product kind of stung a little on my scalp and the fumes can burn your eyes a little.  The stylist wore a surgeon mask because of the fumes.  I chose to suck it up cause I'm awesome like that.  Ha.
  • Blow dry the hair straight
    • After this, my hair looked awesome so I was very excited to see it after straightening.
  • Flat iron the hair
  • Wash the hair
    • That's right, I said wash the hair.  Can you believe after all that work that you have to wash it out!!!  It's so crazy, but that's part of the process.
  • Put a mask on the wet hair and leave for 3-4 minutes
    • This adds moisture that was taken away from flat ironing.
  • Blow dry the hair straight
  • Touch up with the flat iron
  • Admire the awesomeness!!
  • DONE
There you have it.  It took just under 3 hours!  But I did get a little bit of a trim and she touched up my bangs because they were blahhh.  Are you ready for the after pictures????

Looks AWESOME right?  I know you can get this look with simply flat ironing it, but I'm so curious to know how it will look once I can wash it and then go to blow dry it.  Oh I forgot to mention you can't get it wet for 72 hours.  I'm not thrilled about this because I like to wash my hair at least every other day, but I'll deal for this!

There you have it.  So far I'm thrilled with the results.  We'll see what the next few weeks bring.  If it last 4 months (as told) I will officially become a Brazilian blowout addict!!!!!

Oh side note...I had a reality star sighting at the salon.  I wish I was paying better attention, but I just saw the back of her.  My fellow Bachelor watching fans will know who I'm talking about...remember Melissa Rycroft from Jason Mesnick's season???  She was the winner, but then got dumped for the runner up.  Anyways, Melissa was getting her hair did right before me!!!  I was reading a magazine while getting my blowout and there was an article about her upcoming CMT reality show and my stylist said "oh she was here right before you."  Pretty cool right?!?!  I'd seen her and her husband once before at a local restaurant several years ago.  So basically we could easily become BFF's.  I really liked her and now she has the cutest little girl and family.

I'm one happy customer.  I'll give updates to let you know how it's progressing.  Hopefully I'll have nothing to report except pure awesomeness!!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

today's the day!

I'm so excited because at 1:00 I'll be getting a Brazilian blow out!  I can't tell you how happy I am for the day to be here.  I'm so anxious to know what it's going to look like and how much time I'll save doing my hair.

It's a two hour process so I'm hoping I don't get antsy.  I'm sure I'll catch up on some important celebrity gossip.

I'll certainly take pictures to document the process (or try to at least).  I'll let Susan, my stylist, know it's for my blog so hopefully she'll be more than happy to take some pictures for me :)  By this time tomorrow I'll be a whole new woman!

I can't believe how awesome my hair looks in this picture!  I can't wait for it to be like that all the time (or with little to no maintenance!!).

Thanks Mr. H for supporting me in the little experiment.  I know it's a little pricy, but you know it's totally worth it.  I'm so lucky that we see eye to eye!!  As you are well aware, my happiness is your happiness.  Love you!  (I'm being totally serious here!  Mr. H knows the struggle I go through every morning with my hair!  He knows it's not easy!)

Okay, the next post will be the reveal!  Get excited...I know I am!!

Happy WEDNESDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet mom!  I'm so blessed to have you as my mother and I truly thank you for everything you've scarified and provide for me.  Love you mom!!

Happy Monday Friends!
Oh and I'm bummed that I can't watch the Bachelorette tonight, but I'll certainly catch up tomorrow (maybe Wednesday)..uggg!  I love me some Emily! :)

fashion friday...memorial day!

Guess what...it's FRIDAY!  I'm so excited because a three day weekend is here!  Mr. H and I have a fun weekend planned.  We're headed to the lake again for a fun family weekend!

Before I show you some amazing outfits, I want to remember all of those who have died serving our country.  Holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day are too often taken lightly and just looked upon as a day off work/school.  While that is awesome (don't get me wrong) it's way more than that.  Memorial day is a day to remember the lives that were lost and for those men and women who died fighting for the USA.  Thank you!!!

I put together some fun red, white and blue outfits that I would love to have and wear this weekend.  I'm not a big fan of red, but I'd make an exception for this occasion (and July 4th!).

Here's a casual outfit for those of you lucky enough to be in cooler weather, may in the low 70's.  It's already in the 90's here and I'm dreaming of cool weather!  How cute is this headband.

For those that have a fun party to attend, would this outfit be perfect.  I saw these shoes and thought they were perfect for this outfit.  I'm in love with this dress and love that it can easily be dressed up or down.

If you're getting together with friends or family by the pool to have a cook out and swim time, here's a fun little suit with the cutest ruffle on the top and a matching stripped floppy hat.

I'm linking up with the lovely {av} over at long distance loving for my Friday's Fancies.  Check out some of the other great outfits fellow bloggers have put together.  It's one of my favorite parts of the link up.

What are your Memorial Day plans?

Any red, white or blue in your wardrobe this weekend?

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and are able to relax and spend some time with your family and/or friends.  I'm excited to spend the weekend with Mr. H!

Happy weekend FRIENDS!!

it's official

I made an appointment to get a Brazilian blowout!!!  My appointment is next Wednesday and I'm can't wait!

I looked up information about the Brazilian blowout on the official website and then found a salon in my area and looked up their website.  They had a great section with Q&A about the treatment and I was instantly sold. I went yesterday for a consolation and was told I would be perfect candidate for the treatment.

I'm totally excited and ready to get rid of my frizziness and eliminate some of the curliness.  I know it won't make it 100% straight, but anything will help.  And I was stoked to find out that it's not going to damage my hair and that after it wears off it will go back to it's original state, which honestly I was worried about.

So I'll for sure be showing a before and after next week and let you know how I like it.  Stay tuned! :)

Wishing I was back in the Bahamas right NOW!  Mr. H and I went for our honeymoon last year.
Dreaming of the day I can wake up and pull my hair in a side braid and be done.  No straightening or anything.  Ahhh won't that be nice!

Happy day FRIENDS!

shops at target

Have you seen that Target has partnered with some shops/boutiques around the states to bring us some fabulous new "things."  These Target Shops are totally amazing and I'm in love with The Webster shop from Miami.

Here are some of my favorite pieces and I'd pretty much love to have these three outfits hanging in my closet!  I need a unlimited shopping spree to Target basically right now.

This navy leaf pattern is amazing and is perfect for summer.  I like how they have the same pattern in various pieces of clothing and accessories.  It makes it easy to mix and match...great idea!  And obviously coral is so in right now so I'm all over this!  Which item(s) do I need to go get????

I also love the home decor shop, Privet House from Connecticut. Check it out...I bet you'll fall in love too.

I think we can all agree that Target is amazing.  This store seriously makes me happy!  Target itself is awesome and their commercials are genius!!!  One thing they need to approve upon is their website.  I think it's pretty boring and not in line with their image.  If you ask me, their website needs a makeover.  I'm not hatin'...just sayin'.  :)

Have a lovely day FRIENDS!

date at the farmer's market

Hello FRIENDS...Mr. H and I had a wonderful weekend together.  We had a fun little date planned to go to the Farmer's Market on Saturday late morning and then a couple's wedding shower we nearly forgot about on Sunday (oops).

**Get ready for an awesome LONG blog post today.  :)  You're welcome!

I hadn't been to the Farmer's Market in over a year and Mr. H had never been to the Dallas one.  We found lots of yummy things to look at and eat.

I love veggies and fruit so this was heaven for me.  I wish I could have picked one of everything!!  Ha.

Look how cute these mini green apples are!  They are basically bite sized.  I'd never seen any that small before.

Mr. H and I love new potatoes.  We like to boil them whole, cut them in half and add a little butter and salt and pepper.  They go great with any meat...add a fresh veggie and you've got a delicious meal.

I LOVE sweet corn on the cob.  We didn't get any unfortunately.  Mr. H was the regulator and had to say no to some things because I wanted everything!!  :)

I really, really wanted some yummy berries....specifically blackberries.  Mr. H kept saying they were all too expensive.  $4 for a small bowl full, I get it, but I REALLY wanted them.  Blackberries, raspberries and strawberries are my favorite fruits!  The summer is the perfect time of year to eat all you can before they aren't in season anymore.  Next time we go to the Farmer's Market, I'm going to insist we get some blackberries since I didn't get any this time!!

We got some of these green beans.  They will go great with our new potatoes.  Look how huge these grapes are.  I'd never seen any grapes this large before.  They look delicious too!!

I mean they had EVERYTHING you could want there.  Veggies, fruit, meats, eggs, honey, flowers, and then there were little vendors inside a separate pavilion.  There were so handmade soaps I wanted to get...next time.  OH and these super yummy looking pies.  They had mini ones were were going to get, but we got another little dessert treat instead.  We have an excuse to go back now to try these other things!!!

There were lots of flowers and these were my absolute favorite!!  Here you have a combinations of lots of beautiful flowers and the colors go so good together!  They are just so cherry and bright...I LOVE!  We live in an apartment so it's not the best place for planting flowers.

I love all these beautiful flowers.  The large red ones are so summery.  I wish I had a yard to plant some in, but with my luck they'd die instantly.

I saw this hanging plant holder and thought it was the cutest thing ever.  I picture my future house with a large wrap around front porch with several of these hanging with some of those bright colored flowers.  Wouldn't that look beautiful.

Here's Mr. H being silly with his gig 'em thumbs up wearing his maroon shirt (supporting is TX A&M school).  Isn't he the cutest!!!

We got lunch out there and I got this yummy spread.  Two tostadas (one beef/one chicken) with black beans, cabbage, cheese, tomatoes and cilantro and a side of refried beans and rice.  The tostadas were amazing and very authentic.

My favorite part of the trip was tasting and getting fudge!  If you didn't know by now, I'm a HUGE sweet treat lover.  Mr. H is too, but he'll tell you I love it more.  We decided upon pecan praline fudge.  We both LOVE pralines and this was absolutely to die for.  If I had it my way, I would have gotten three or four different kinds.  Haha.  Again, next time... :)

We had such a fun little outing at the Farmer's Market.  It turned out to be a gorgeous day and I had my favorite person with me.  Thanks Mr. H for taking your wifey on a fun date!

Here's what we ended up getting: peaches, cherry tomatoes, new potatoes, strawberries and green beans.  I'm pretty excited about these things!  The peaches were so ripe and tasted amazing.  We'll have a yummy meal this week with our new potatoes and green beans.  I'll be taking these strawberries and cherry tomatoes for lunch this week.  Lots of nutrients coming our way this week-look how healthy Mr. H and I are.  (minus the fudge. haha)

We have lots of weddings to attend this summer.  This sweet couple below are getting married June 22!  Congrats Alina and Daniel.  Aren't they the cutest couple?  Well be sides Mr. H and I of course.

We took another pictures with A&D.  How cute right?  Haha.

Two of my sweet friends.  See the creeper in the back...that's Stacie (on the right)'s fiancee.  They are getting married June 1!  It's getting close.  I'm so excited!!  Can't wait to celebrate with y'all Stacie and Jeff!!

We had some time to kill before we headed to church at 5:00 so Mr. H took me to...

Pretty awesome right!!!  Are you jealous??  You should be because those cupcakes were amazing.  I usually think Sprinkles is over rated and typically they are a little dry, but they were amazing actually!

I got carrot and Mr. H got lemon.  Carrot is my absolute favorite and I was so happy they had it.  If you've never been they don't carry all the flavors everyday.

I was so happy to eat my cupcake!!!  Mr. H sure knows how to make my day even better!!

We didn't like our cupcakes if you can't tell.  Ha.  We ate them in about one minute.  No shame though...every bite was amazing.  Mr. H's lemon was yummy too.  I of course had to have a bite.

We had a very fun weekend and got to spend lots of time together.  That's why weekends are my favorite...I get to spend lots of quality time with Mr. H.

I hope you too had a fun weekend and were even able to relax a little!!  It's time to get back to work and I look forward to what this week has to bring.  I'm starting to look at beginning the week with a positive attitude.  I have a hard time getting back into the work week, but with a good attitude it will make it so much easier!

On a side note, I HATE fever blisters!!  I've had the virus since I was younger and I get them every now and then.  I got one on Friday and it always makes me so mad!  Mr. H does not have them so that's right, I can't kiss Mr. H until it goes away.  4-5 days people!!!  Ugggg.  We're still able to cuddle at least so it could be worse I guess.  Be thankful if you don't have them, they are painful and just plain annoying!

Have a HAPPY day friends!

fashion friday...chambray love

Fridays make me very happy!  It's the end of a work week and beginning of the weekend.  Friday nights for Mr. H and I include pizza and cuddle time on the couch watching TV.

Okay, I'm so excited because I just got my first chambray button up a few weeks ago.  I found one at Old Navy and decided it was perfect; and it will look awesome with my red/orange shorts as well as my white ones.  It's a great neutral piece that works with lots of colors which I love.  I like versatile pieces that can be mixed with things I already have.

I've been eyeing these shoes for a while and decided to plan an outfit around them.  And I'm totally in love with these pants.  They are a bit too pricy for me, but maybe I can find a knock off pair somewhere.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Anyone who thinks chambray and orange doesn't look good together is crazy, am I right!!

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

How do YOU wear chambray?
What's YOUR favorite color to wear with it?

I'm linking up with the lovely {av} over at long distance loving for my Friday's Fancies.  Check out some of the other great outfits fellow bloggers have put together.  It's one of my favorite parts of the link up.

This weekend, Mr. H and I plan to pull a date out of our date jar.  Actually I sort of chose it already and....we are headed to our local Farmer's Market Saturday to check out what yummy things we can find.  I'm a big fruit lover and really would love to pick up some yummy berries.  Mr. H and I will be spending lots of time together this weekend.  Since we were gone last weekend, it's nice to not have an agenda this weekend.

Do YOU have anything fun planned this weekend?

Happy Friday FRIENDS!
